Running an SE Soc Election

So the time has come to elect a new executive for SE Soc. The following documents contain any and all the resources you might need to host the election.

It's the President's responsibility to appoint a Chief Returning Officer (CRO) to conduct all aspects of the Executive Election. The CRO (and their choice of Deputy Returning Officer, who can help them run the election) must not be candidates for any executive position.

It is the CRO's responsibility to be familiar with section 6.0 Elections of the Constitution , as it is the final authority regarding election procedures.

Procedure

  1. The acting CRO, via the SE Soc email ([email protected]) must send an email to WUSA outlining the positions for nominations and election timeline. Please refer to the following email template for reference

    1. We've been in touch with James in the past [email protected]

    2. See the following email template:

Email: setting up an election via vote.wusa.ca

  2. Following correspondence with WUSA, the CRO should inform the on term SE Cohorts of the nomination period and nomination conditions via email and optionally any secondary channels of communication that is used by the relevant cohorts (Facebook messenger group, Discord, etc.)

  3. Once nominations have been completed, the CRO will inform the Cohorts of the election period and candidate platforms.

  4. After campaigns, voting will commence and the SE Soc elections will complete with a brand new SE A-Soc or B-Soc executive team.
