Being elected is no small feat, you've demonstrated to your peers that you're a strong candidate to represent the cohort and fulfil its needs. Before you can start helping out around here, there are a couple of things you'll need to know.
<aside> 📌 Here’s the TL;DR:
The founder of SE Soc Bilal Akhtar and the founding council Spring 2018 spent a great deal of time ironing out our SE Soc constitution. It's what socially establishes SE as a group of unique students with unique needs beyond that of Math students and ECE students. It also establishes the sincerity of our goals and a structure for fairness.
The constitution is made publicly available here: https://github.com/SESoc/constitution and it is recommended that you give it a quick read: Constitution .
In it, SE Soc's objective is outlined and quoted here for convenience:

SE Soc will formalize the events and functions that should be run every term. Furthermore, having elected officials allows members to hold people accountable for those events and functions."

As mentioned above, accountability is important to SE Soc, so in Winter 2021 the council decided to pilot using Notion to document, plan and archive SE Soc activities in an effort to be more organized and transparent with the SE student population about SE Soc operations. In Winter 2023, we transitioned to this more simplified version for ease of use. Here’s how to get started!
One great benefit to archiving SE Soc members is that we're able to associate people to the events they've previously contributed on. An event or project is added to someone’s personal page when they’re mentioned in the SE Soc Team property of the event page.
