March 20 Event

Hey Software Engineering! The next SE Chats call will be happening this Saturday, March 20th from 8-9pm ET on the new UW Software Engineering Discord! This event, happening every two weeks, is an opportunity to join your fellow SEs in discussing solutions for a pressing issue that affects all of us as students, software engineers, and citizens of the world. Hopefully, you'll make some new friends from other cohorts!

This time, the discussion will be about designing spaces to gather in the digital world.

For this meeting, we've decided to change up the format a little bit. After a quick topic introduction in the SE Chat voice channel, everyone will go into 4-person breakout rooms for the discussion. Instead of regrouping in the same voice channel at the end, everyone will have access to a common EasyRetro board, where they can add notes from their discussions.

As this may be the first time you'll be joining the new UW SE Discord, make sure you leave a few minutes before the call starts at 8pm to log in and verify your account on the server. Once you're verified you'll be able to join the call by navigating to the SE Chats category → SE Chat voice channel. See you then!

March 6 Event

Hey everyone! This coming Saturday, March 6th from 8-9pm ET we'll be hosting the very first SE Chats call on the brand-new UW Software Engineering Discord! This event, happening every two weeks, is an opportunity to join your fellow SEs in reflecting on a pressing issue that affects all of us as students, software engineers, and citizens of the world.

At our first meeting we'll talk about staying connected and meeting new people during the pandemic. All years are welcome to join!
